Barack Obama Wins as the First African-American President

Barack Obama won – what else is there to say?
Regardless of your personal political views, there’s really no denying that millions of people stayed up all night to follow the election. And millions woke up this morning with a new sense of hope and optimism for a better future.
The wait is finally over. Not that I was watching any of it myself, or even paying much attention. I didn’t have to. I was bombarded with mail in a post bag (would you believe it), e-mails (my PC crashed) and telephone calls to the extend that I decided to switch it off. It would have taken a lifetime to read and answer my post, read and comment on all of the e-mails and not to mention the phone calls (I had to switch it on silent). In the end I had to ignore it all (sorry guys!) and just get on with it. Dare I say, I didn’t really have to keep up with anything, as there is endless info if you want it online.
Barack Obama wins as first African-American President. A very historic moment. I think he deserves it and in a kind of way he had to win, it’s obvious to me.
I’m sure Martin Luther King would be thrilled. It’s hard to tell how people really feel. I just hope that he’s the change that’s neeed.

Lets hope Barack will stick to his promises! He sure won’t have an easy life, neither will Michelle, his wife and his two daughters.
